1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Spamlix mobile application (the “App”), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Spamlix provides spam call blocking, optional Caller ID overlays (Android), iOS Call Directory integration, global number lookup, personal block rules, community spam reporting, name suggestions, leaderboards, multi-language interface options, and related protection tools. Features vary by platform and the permissions you grant.
Spamlix relies on local rules, community reports, and synced threat lists. We do not guarantee 100% block rates, perfect Caller ID names, or that legitimate calls will never be flagged.
3. Accounts
You may create an account via phone OTP, Google, or Apple. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and keep credentials secure. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service.
To protect authentication, Spamlix may apply OTP cool-downs and temporary device OTP restrictions after repeated requests or unusual-activity signals (including escalating cool-downs and, after repeated warnings, a longer temporary block such as about one month). Clearing App data resets on-device abuse-control state for that installation.
4. Community Reporting & Acceptable Use
You agree to use reporting and rule features responsibly. You must NOT:
- Maliciously report legitimate numbers (emergency services, known contacts, lawful businesses) to harm others
- Attempt to scrape, reverse-engineer, or overload Spamlix backends
- Abuse phone OTP or authentication flows (including automated or excessive requests)
- Use the App to harass, stalk, or unlawfully monitor anyone
- Upload unlawful, defamatory, or infringing content in comments, names, or profile fields
Accounts engaged in abusive reporting or manipulation of community data may be banned and related content removed.
5. Permissions
Certain features require system permissions (phone/call log, contacts, overlay, notification access, battery/autostart helpers, iOS Call Directory). Denying permissions may limit or disable related functionality. You control optional features in Settings.
6. Intellectual Property
Spamlix code, designs, branding, databases, and related assets are owned by Spamlix or its licensors. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, redistribute, or monetize the App or its components without written permission, except as allowed by applicable law.
7. Third-Party Services
The App uses third-party services such as Google Firebase, Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In, Google Gemini (for optional insights), and Google AdMob (when ads are enabled). Your use of those services may also be subject to their terms.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Spamlix and its developers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the App, including missed calls, blocked legitimate calls, incorrect Caller ID labels, downtime, delayed sign-in due to OTP abuse controls, or reliance on community/AI insights.
9. Disclaimer
The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10. Termination
You may stop using Spamlix and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or to protect the community.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms as features change. The Last Updated date will be revised accordingly. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
