Spamlix ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). We comply strictly with the Google Play Developer Policy and Apple App Store Review Guidelines.
2. Sensitive Permissions & Data Collection
To provide core spam blocking functionality, Spamlix requests access to sensitive permissions. We only request permissions essential to the App's core functionality:
- Call Logs (Android
READ_CALL_LOG): Required to identify incoming numbers and screen them against our local spam database. We do not upload or store your call history on our servers. All screening happens locally on your device. - Contacts (
READ_CONTACTS): Required to ensure we never block calls from your saved contacts. Your contact list never leaves your device and is not uploaded to our servers. - CallKit / Call Blocking (iOS): Required to provide native caller ID and blocking on Apple devices.
3. Community Spam Reporting
If you actively choose to report a number as spam, the App will transmit the specific phone number and the spam category (e.g., Scam, Telemarketing) to our Firebase backend. This data is aggregated anonymously to protect the community. No personally identifiable information (PII) is attached to these reports.
4. Third-Party Services & Analytics
We use Firebase Crashlytics to monitor App stability and performance. Crash reports are strictly anonymous and contain no PII, contact data, or call logs. We do not use third-party advertising trackers, and we never sell your data.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
Since your personal data (contacts, call logs) remains locally on your device, you can delete it instantly by uninstalling the App. If you have created an account for community leaderboards, you can request account deletion at any time by contacting us at hello@spamlix.com.
